Blackwood and Padauk Cane

$500.00

This Heirloom quality cane features two world renown exotic hardwoods. The handle is African Blackwood, the densest and darkest member of the rosewood family of species. African blackwood is very dark like ebony, but not black; in fact African blackwood is very chatoyant, but you'll need a bright light or the sun to see this wood come alive. There are some burl grain in this handle too, an added element of rarity and interest. The divider is aluminum and black palm. Black palm is an interesting material that actually isn't even wood, its a dense member of the grass family, as such is has a very unique looking "grain". A shaft of vibrant padauk wood brings a healthy dose of color to this cane. A great daily user. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.

Last images are of the Blackwood tree (locals call it Mpingo), in natural habitat.
