Ironwood Pistol Grip Cane

$800.00

Even after working with countless woods I can confidently say I have a favorite species - Desert Ironwood from Arizona. This exquisite cane features a handle of figured desert ironwood that is outstanding quality material with golden chatoyance and wild, contrasting bands. As its name implies, Desert Ironwood is very dense and strong, a highly recommended wood for a high-end but durable cane. The shaft is macassar ebony with a very dark brown appearance, but it is actually both black and brown striped - handsome. Brass is always my metal of choice with ironwood as it pairs so nicely with the golden shimmery grain and a curly gidgee wood centerpiece complements the browns. Fairly heavy cane with these dense woods. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.

The last image is of an ironwood tree (Olneya Tesota) in the Sonoran desert.
