Pink Ivory and Variscite Cane
Pink Ivory and Variscite Cane
A very pretty cane, and a lapidary cane too! The handle is Pink Ivory from South Africa, its one of the rarest woods in the world, so rare that historically the Zulu king of S. Africa would have anyone in possession of the wood put to death, only the king was allowed to possess it. Pink Ivory is judged by the depth of it's color and this handle has the best watermelon pink. The divider and pins are Variscite stone, a semi-precious stone with color similar to turquoise but a little greener. Quilted maple adds a lot of chatoyant and exciting grain in the shaft. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
