Flaming Padauk and Dinosaur Bone Cane
Flaming Padauk and Dinosaur Bone Cane
If ever there was a cane with wood grain that looks as if it were on fire, this one may be it! The handle is figured Burmese Padauk wood from S. E. Asia. The block used for the handle came from the middle of a "Y" in the tree where two major branches of the trunk split off from each other, the effect on the wood is brilliant! Its completely filled with chatoyant curl figure over top of bands of different colors - incredible wood! The end of the handle has a piece of fossilized Dinosaur bone from the US State of Utah. This piece of stone was stomping around over 150 million years ago, since that time it has undergone replacement fossilization into colorful agate, nicely preserving the cell structure within the bone. A remarkable piece of natural history that is beautiful. The shaft of this one is Sheoak wood, one of my personal favorites for its amazing grain. Overall an average weight cane, could be used by most anyone. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
