Agate and Tulipwood Cane

$1,750.00

A gorgeous and unique cane with lovely colors and pattern, also my first using agate for a solid stone handle. I collected the agate myself in South Dakota during a 7000 mile road trip to find special stones. I cut down the agate and shaped this handle all by hand, a process that took many hours. Its semi-transparent and glows when light shines on it, and through it, a really beautiful quality. The wood on this cane is very special, its one of the rarest rosewoods called "Tulipwood" from Brazil. Tulipwood is one of the most colorful woods with a host of pinks, reds, and peachy colors, its also dense and durable with chatoyance - a "Cadillac" among woods. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.

I consider this cane a "special occasion" piece. Its functional and enjoyable to use, but more susceptible to damage if dropped to the ground on account of the stone handle. The stone handle is smooth and cold in hand at first, but warms up the longer its held. A wrist strap is recommended with this cane. Best as a balance aid, it's recommended to apply any weight directly over the shaft.
