East Indian Rosewood Curl cane

$350.00

This handmade cane is made from one of the world's most classic woods, East Indian Rosewood. East Indian rosewood has been in high demand for centuries as a premium furniture and musical instrument wood. This particular example is a dark purple hued brown. East Indian rosewood is grown on plantations now and old growth stock is extremely limited. This stock is plantation stock with is called "palisander" and came from Java, Indonesia. Even still, its about 30 years old from storage! Its weight is moderate but towards the lighter side, its a nimble cane and easily carried. It has a luster finish that is smooth and luxurious. Total cane height measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.

I admittedly struggled photographing this one, it would appear as if there are more differences in the grain and color between the two sides of the handle and the shaft than there are actually. Its quite uniform in appearance top to bottom, the handle and shaft are from the same board of wood with the same color and grain.
