Here a handsome cane with a sickle style handle made out of yellow box burl from Australia, light in color fading into dark grey and very dense wood, this piece has some burl eye figure and swirly grain. The shaft is Ipe wood from S. America. This species was recently added to the list of protected species, but its not a rare wood in the exotic timber realm. In fact, Ipe is a premium wood for high-end decking and outdoor building applications because its extremely dense and rot resistant as well. This Ipe has a brown color with a fairly strong green hue to it. The divider is the densest wood in the world, very rare genuine lignum wood. Medium in weight, a little towards the feeling heavy side. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
