Rosewood Bird Cane
Rosewood Bird Cane
Here’s a bird cane with the most expensive wood in the entire world, Hainan rosewood. Even bead sized pieces of Hainan rosewood can sell for hundreds of dollars - it is quite precious. The scarcity is due largely to demand for centuries leading the species to near extinction. Hainan rosewood was the wood of choice of the Chinese emperor's furniture for several dynasties. Such pieces only exist in museums today. It is quite exciting to be able to offer this cane with this rare wood.
The piece of Hainan rosewood for this bird cane handle is gorgeous with contrasting grain and colors ranging from pinks, purples, and beiges. Its also a chatoyant wood that catches the light in its grain and has a lovely glow. These quality are also present in the pink ivory wood divider, which is flanked by layers of copper, tulipwood, and purpleheart. The shaft is a special offering as well, kingwood from Brazil, its the second densest of all the rosewoods and it has a rick dark purple color and chatoyancy as well. Kingwood is rare and very hard to find in long lengths. Cane weight is medium, suitable for most anyone. A good daily use cane. length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
